Would be super chill to have a recording feature to HDD/SSD :)

DVR would be quite nice, but you can somewhat easily do this with OBS right now. I think at the bare minimum it would be cool to have a record button that would link to a screen recorder of your choice that sets the window parameters, or in the absence of a recording program, suggest one in Synaptic or something, kind of like how Mint treated Samba if you didn't have it installed.
