According to this comment, SSHFS 3.x doesn't work with macOS, but the installation instructions make it seem like it does.

Perhaps in addition to linking to FUSE for macOS, there should also be a link to their SSHFS fork. Although it looks like the osxfuse version is based on a fairly old 2.5 release, while the libfuse version is up to 2.10. Is the 2.10 release known to work on macOS?

The fork has been reintegrated already. SSHFS 3.x will support MacOS as soon as OSXFUSE has caught up to libfuse3.
