I wonder why this isn't set up to update automatically?

You need to adjust the less.js package json and rebuild. There was a task to auto update the less.js package json, but not sure if it still works

I guess we'd better wait for 2.6.1 anyway (with #2798 fixed and temporary reverted dependencies update) just to minimize the breaking impact.
