SwSh Starters not randomizing properly on Switch #198

Ok so I just recently modded my Switch and thought "Hmm, maybe a randomizer will make this game tolerable" so naturally I used the latest available build of pkNX to randomize SwSh and while wild encounters seem to work just fine, starters do not. The starter selection overworld sprites are randomized but not the actual pokemon. I pick Carvanha, I send out sobble. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Did you randomize the static encounters?

Do other static encounters behave correctly? This could imply that the game is using an installed patch's static encounter file rather than your modified file.

Haven't exactly tried, but this is the only gen 8 randomizer I use so could it be SwSh update data that's interfering?

Also is it possible to make the game choose my modified file instead of the installed patch?

If you have any suggestions for me to try I'm open to anything, I just need to know what I need to do as I've only had a modded switch for 2 days, so it could be something fairly simple I'm overlooking on my end.

So yeah I don't think this has anything to do with static encounters. I'm referring to the starters at the beginning of the game, which are classified under the gift tab. There's no Grookey, Skorbunny, or Sobbly anywhere in the static encounter tab so I'm pretty sure gift pokemon for SwSh are bugged.

Ok so I found a temp fix, I managed to somehow against all odds get starter randomization to work. I used a different seed after saving at the starters, it might still be bugged but I'm not 100% certain.

Okay so I have a question, is it possible the seed I got with the run that did not randomize the starters properly was just a bad seed?
