The discussion at https://discourse.jabref.org/t/unable-to-edit-my-bibtex-file-that-i-used-before-vers-5-1/2390 brought up some user errors at the rendering of references. A concrete BibTeX file is missing and there is no JUnit test in JabRef for the issue. This has to be done here to understand the issue and to plan the next steps.
