Reader Book Author Rating Notes
Bobbie
Grace Remarkably Bright Creatures Shelby Van Pelt 6 "I enjoyed the first two-thirds but the story stopped developing toward the end. Still a unique book that I enjoyed."
Isaac
Jason The Maid Nita Prose 7 "I thought it was an interesting take on the Thriller genre. Something I hadn't read before which was really nice. I'd read the second one for sure."
Miranda
Teresa The Thursday Murder Club Richard Osman 8.5 "It had a lot of pieces to the solution and I did not figure it out, which I like. This is the first in the series and I will definitely read another!"

Reader Book Author Rating Notes
Bobbie The Three Weissmanns of Westport Cathleen Schine 7 "It seemed promising but is really slow and meh. One of the main characters was named Miranda but she hated lawyers. I thought of our Miranda every time I read the name."
Grace Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men Caroline Criado Perez 7 "The book makes the argument that much of the world is designed for men and that men are considered 'the default' and women 'the other'. The author advocates that we disaggregate data by gender because women's needs are different than men's but we almost always default to what works best for men when it comes to medical research, city design, government structure, you name it. I read this one with my work book club. I usually don't pick up non-fiction, but this one was pretty good and worked well as an audio book since it read a little like a podcast."
Isaac
Jason Digital Fortress Dan Brown 6.5 "It was an interesting concept, but the premise didn't really hold up (though it was interesting to read it in a post- Edward Snowden world). The Robert Langdon series is much better written in my opinion."
Miranda Margarettown Gabrielle Zevin N/A "It was a really interesting look at the idea of falling in love with the same person as they become different people (through aging or growth) over a lifetime. It was beautifully done!"
Teresa The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession Michael Finkel 7 "I don't usually gravitate to nonfiction but it was an easy read. This guy stole like 2 billion dollars worth of art (300 pieces)!"
