eMMC Installation

Prerequisites

Enter MASKROM mode

Option 1

Momentarily disable the eMMC by shorting clock to ground upon boot.

Option 2

Boot into the proprietary loader's ROCKUSB mode, and then switch to MASKROM mode.

# rkdeveloptool rd 3

Push the proprietary loader for eMMC access via USB

# rkdeveloptool db rk322x_loader_at_v1.08.256.bin 

Backup the existing eMMC loader

# rkdeveloptool rl 0x0000 0x4000 original-loader.img

This would be a good time to backup the rest of your eMMC!

Erase the existing eMMC loader

# dd if=/dev/zero of=zero-loader.img bs=512 count=$((0x4000))
# rkdeveloptool wl 0x0000 zero-loader.img

Write U-Boot to the eMMC

# rkdeveloptool wl 0x0040 idbloader.img
# rkdeveloptool wl 0x4000 u-boot.itb 

Reboot the device

# rkdeveloptool rd

Connect to UART2
