Question
I've encountered a situation where I need to update Istio configuration using
istioctl install
without upgrading the Istio version itself. However, each time I runistioctl install
, the revision tags set byistioctl tag set
seem to be lost. This presents a problem if pods are started during the installation process, as they might not receive the correct sidecar injection without the revision tags.Is there a recommended approach to update Istio configuration using
istioctl install
while ensuring that revision tags are preserved? Or is there a way to prevent potential issues with sidecar injection during the update process?Attempted Solutions
