I'm not sure what the problem was, would love to know what to troubleshoot.
I have a fairly clean install of Ubuntu 22 and installed hostctl via homebrew.
There was massive permission issues, so I could list information from current hosts file, but i couldn't modify anything. Homebrew doesn't seem to support running sudo AFAIK.
So I removed homebrew installation and installed via .deb file and with sudo every command I've tried has worked so far.
I would prefer homebrew install due to auto-updating, but is homebrew a realistic option if it has limited permissions this CLI tool seems to require to operate?
