Imagine you had an empty lot and the ability to help the planet, what would you do with it? An abandoned strip mall can turn into a botanical garden, a dried up lot can be nurtured into a community garden, and an overgrown field can be reshaped into a park.
- Click the notification from the SnapChat team that a new lens experience has been unlocked for you
- This takes you to the chat screen introducing the lens as well as direct links to activate the lens
- Clicking the link to the snap lens allows you to unlock the lens for 48 hrs, or to send to friends
- Once unlocked, you will be greeted with instructions to tap your screens to view different options of what that lot can be repurposed for
- You can take a picture to share with friends or to access the voting option to place your vote
- After pressing the vote button, a voting modal comes up for you to vote
- After placing your vote, you are shown the graph of what others in the community have optioned for

To run the application on your device, make sure you have the latest version of NODE installed, YARN, and the Expo CLI NODE
npm install -g yarn yarn global add expo-cli
- Clone the repository you your computer
- Navigate to the repository directory using terminal
- Type yarn install in terminal to install all dependencies
yarn install
- Type expo start in terminal to run application
expo start
- Download the Expo app from your app store, and scan the QR code to launch the applcation on your phone
- Log in, or register using your email
- After finding your current location on the map screen, it creates a geoFence around you where only lots in your neighborhood appear for you to vote on.
- After you click on the lot you want to vote on you get taken to the camera screen to view the lens
- Click on the vote now button to view the voting modal
- Select which action you want to vote on, or type other in the "Other" selector
- All your voting selections get uploaded to the Firebase Firestore Database
- After you press the vote button, you get taken to the graph screen where you see the voting trends
- When you press the okay button, you get taken back to the camera main screen
