If a call fails when a loading spinner is displayed, sometimes the error only appears temporarily and the spinner is left behind (e.g. richlist):

This can be confusing for users. After failure, the icon should be replaced by a 'Failed to load' message with a retry button. We could also include the specific error details here, instead of in the temporary toast alert.
