Here is some example text with a footnote.[^foot1]

[^foot1]: This footnote requires[^foot2] some extra commentary.
[^foot2]: How "required" is this, actually? Let's be honest.

This is definitely a fringe use case, but wanted to raise it in case there was an easy solution. At the moment, it looks like littlefoot doesn't process footnotes inside of footnotes, which means that the popover for foot1 will contain a link to foot2, but since the entire footnote div has been hidden, that link does nothing.

I imagine having popovers upon popovers would be tricky to get working, but I imagine the UI awkwardness is kind of aesthetically the same cognitive experience of dealing with footnotes to footnotes...

I don't know if there's an elegant solution to it, but wanted to check if it was something you'd ever thought about.

Thanks for all your good work!

Thanks for the suggestion! Nested footnotes is on my radar, but my time to work on littlefoot is limited. PRs are open if anyone wants to pick it up.
