A bit to unpack here... "germ cell nucleus" is such an odd level of granularity.. "germ cell" as defined in GO and CL encompasses plants and I believe plasmodium, some fungi, ... We should put the TCs at the most parsimonious places along the chain: germ cell nucleus -> germ cell -> fertilization -> sexual reproduction I think there is a long confusing history of what is meant by gamete/zygote/fertilization in GO, e.g from 2007: #6520
