Sensor Deployed:
March 9, 2023 by FloodNet

Sensor Version: 2.5.

Firmware Version:

Sensor has been very noisy since end of July despite having worked fine since deployment. Upon inspecting the sensor on 08/31 it was seen that the sensor was inside of a tree. When sensor was deployed in the winter there was no tree bloom, but trees have encapsulated the sensor since then. Possible solutions include moving the sensor to another location or cutting down tree branches.

09/15: Went and cut off a few branches of the tree that were immediately surrounding the sensor specifically where the maxbotix on the sensor was. Need to monitor the sensor for a bit to see if that fixes the no returns, also not a permanent solution as tree will bloom again every year.

10/05: Battery has been trending downwards since August 22nd. Suspecting that this is due to this sensor being inside a dense tree. Replaced with new battery, hoping that in the upcoming weeks leaves will start falling and the sensor will be able to recover. Long term solution is to double check solar panel, heltec, and then move the sensor slightly down to drive rail closer to subway entrance.
