It would be nice if the translation of Flatpak and xdg-desktop-portal(-gtk) would be possible using some localization platform like Zanata or Transifex instead of manually editing the pofiles. It would make translating much more user friendlier.

It seems that flatpak-docs are already using Zanata.

The Flatpak translation files are already tracked in GNOME’s translation platform Damned Lies: https://l10n.gnome.org/module/flatpak/

@alexlarsson do you have a release schedule? It would greatly help us if you managed to have at least a one week-long string freeze before translations are due, and warned us ahead of the string freeze so we can translate, proofread, and submit translations :)

It isn't a localization platform. (same as this repository po folder)
FlatHub already use hosted weblate https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/flathub/ and it's a copy-lefted opensource software and cloud edition free for libre projects https://hosted.weblate.org/hosting/ or you can download and host it https://weblate.org/en/download/ https://weblate.org/en/features/ or you can use https://crowdin.com/pricing#annual free plan with 60,000 hosted words
