Checklist

  • I agree to follow the Code of Conduct that this project adheres to.
  • I have searched the issue tracker for a bug that matches the one I want to file, without success.
  • If this is an issue with a particular app, I have tried filing it in the appropriate issue tracker for the app (e.g. under https://github.com/flathub/) and determined that it is an issue with Flatpak itself.
  • This issue is not a report of a security vulnerability (see here if you need to report a security issue).

Flatpak version

1.15.4

What Linux distribution are you using?

Arch Linux

Linux distribution version

No response

What architecture are you using?

x86_64

How to reproduce

  1. Install any Flatpak that needs to open a file picker, web browser, etc...
  2. Launch the Flatpak.
  3. Click on any button or whatever, that is supposed to open one of these external programs.

Expected Behavior

This issue just started happening randomly... I expect Flatpaks to act as they did in the past... actually able to open these external apps!

Actual Behavior

It just doesn't open the external programs...

What version of xdg-desktop-portal do you have?

What desktop environment are you using? (For example GNOME, KDE Plasma, XFCE, or something you have put together from individual components yourself)

What xdg-desktop-portal backend are you using? (xdg-desktop-portal-gtk, -kde or -gnome would be the most likely ones)

Is anything from xdg-desktop-portal or any of its backends logged in the systemd Journal when you log in to your desktop session?

Is anything logged in the systemd Journal when you do something that would normally have opened an external program?
