We could add a bar with accent color you choose in Windows Settings, but using different colors might not be an option to think.

  • What you think you want change color based on(for example 25%/50% of the largest file in the folder, like 25%/25% or of the largest file in the whole drive)?
  • what colors you think you want to use?
  • If there’s an existing program that supports this, let us know.

What is the size relative to, the parent drive?

I would assume the Parent Folder - I don't think it would make sense back to the drive, as the bar lengths would not correspond to something tangible.

By that I mean, if you add all the bars together, it totals 100% of the total bar width

I was referring similar features to this utility : https://windirstat.net/ or https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free

So they are not relative to the parent folder, but the parent drive.

For a big drive, with small files, these bars may be too small to render.
