Description of the problem:
When trying to import verde as vd, I get an 'No module named 'appdirs' error on my mac. See attached photo.

System information

  • Operating system: Mac
  • Python installation (Anaconda, system, ETS): conda
  • Version of Python: 3.9
  • Version of this package:
  • If using conda, paste the output of conda list below:

Hey @ThomasMGeo that's very strange. Appdirs is a dependency of Pooch, which was used in Verde for the handling the sample data.

One thing I'm noticing there: appdirs came from pypi. How did you install things in that environment? Did you create an environment.yml file? If so, could you please share it here?

Could you also please post the entire output of conda list, preferably as text instead of a screenshot (to make it possible to search)?

To fix it, I just uninstalled and re-installed appdirs, even though it looked like a normal install. Thanks for taking a look!
