The current version of sphinx is broken with Python 3.10.

Looks like this is related to readthedocs/sphinx-autoapi#224

Hm, or maybe not. All I can say for certain is that replacing the type alias with a class fixes the problem.

We've migrated away from Sphinx to https://github.com/samwilsn/docc
