Swiftsong jobs nerfed too much? #10253

Problem Description

From 0.10.8 changelog:
"Reduced the pay and availability of Swiftsong jobs."

Why both?
I mean, yeah, Swiftsong may be a little too good, but apparently the festival missions will also get deadlines (unless it's not about Swiftsong ones, movie festivals there etc.?), so nerfing both availability and rewards seems a little much. I think it should perhaps be one or the other.

Desired Solution

Nerf either the rewards or the frequency of Swiftsong jobs, but not both.

Alternative Approaches

Leave them as it is, I guess.

Ask @roadrunner56, because they made the nerf.
However, currently (in 0.10.7) it’s quite easy to make a lot of money, enough to buy a Centipede and capture an Unfettered Shield Beetle. Then…

If you want to go a capturing route, then yeah.
But by that logic, nothing other than trade (and maybe mining) should matter, until you make enough money to get a trade fleet, or capture fleet rolling?
So I don't think it quite applies/matters here.

Well, or destroy enough Unfettered to land on Hai-home and buy a Shield Beetle. It doesn’t really matter how you do it, if it can be done. However, I do get your point. Maybe the offer rate should be just increased from what it is in the continuous by a third?

I don't know what the values are or how does the offer rate work.
Hence my fairly basic suggestion to just nerf either the reward or the frequency, but not both, comparing to version 0.10.7.

#10117 This is where it was done, if you want to look for context.

@Dagroth1 Have you tried taking Swiftsong jobs in continuous? If so, does it feel like it's not a good or viable way of making money in Hai space? I'd like to know how this feels in-game rather than just purely looking at the numbers.

@roadrunner56 I'll give them a try once the new patch gets here and let you know, how it feels.
That should be tomorrow, right? (if I start the proper FW campaign, I'd have trouble with getting to Hai space, but that's still some time away)
Well, I have the game on GOG, so probably a little later.

How do you get the uhai ship to be disabled? The odds of it being disabled by the hai are very very low with some changes we did in Wah Ki

I noticed that. But the odd one will be disabled, and a Centipede is resilient enough to shoot a mostly-disabled UHai and disable it.

Yeah but you'd lose so much irl time that it doesn't matter, its the same thing as other paths to that amount of money
The days in game truly don't really have that much significance if you ask me

Also we can't not balance smth bc smth else is unbalanced (though lets not rekt hai space too much plz its not like many ppl go there anyway)

OP has disappeared. Are there any other opinions that these jobs should be changed?

I think it might have been nerfed slightly too much, but it's probably okay as-is.

If we were to change it up, I would say another 100 credits per job would probably be good, but that's all.
