[Feature request] edit layouts on secondary monitors/displays #34
Comments
Hey, thank you for your suggestion! I have a primary ultra wide display and a secondary laptop display, so I understand what your are talking about! I'm not sure it's feasible to have the editor open simultaneously on both monitors, as any update on the first monitor would need to be propagated to all editors on the other monitors. I'll think about it! If that ends up being too resource-intensive or unfeasible, I think it would be a good idea to at least allow users to decide on which monitor they want the editor to appear. |
Would it be easier to provide a context input to select the monitor whose layout you wish to edit and then have the editor appear on that monitor @domferr? It was super confusing that the editor only showed up on the primary monitor and the monitors were labelled 1 and 2 without being able to distinguish which was which (because both monitors were the same resolution). |
Describe the feature you'd like
be able to edit layouts on secondary monitors/displays.
Additional context
the current layout editor only appears on the primary display. Not all displays are the same resolution.
my primary display is a laptop screen at 1080p and my secondary is an ultra wide at 5120x1440.
editing the layout on the primary, when i actually want to use the layout on the secondary, is trial and error.
if the layout editor overlay appeared on both monitors at the same time (and was interactive) then this would be much easier.
