Slow (RPS) performance for Node.js projects #3711

  • I have tried with the latest version of my channel (Stable or Edge)
  • I have uploaded Diagnostics

Expected behavior

Performance close to direct served node.js app. On Ubuntu performance differs by max 5-10%.

Actual behavior

Performance is 15x slower than Ubuntu, 20x slower than direct served node.js app.

Information

  • Is it reproducible? Yes
  • Is the problem new? No
  • Did the problem appear with an update? No
  • A reproducible case if this is a bug, Dockerfiles FTW. Here
  • macOS Version: v10.10.x, v10.11.x, v10.12.x, v10.13.x

Diagnostic logs

Docker for Mac: v2 (older verisons also has this issue)

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Required dependencies

  • wrk (can be installed via brew install wrk)

    1. git clone https://github.com/dalisoft/docker-fullstack-app-multistage-demo.git
    2. cd docker-fullstack-app-multistage-demo
    3. ./compose.up.dev.sh
    4. wrk -c1 -d1 http:https://localhost:3000
