"Rechecking packages after deletions"

I've just switched from pkg_chk to pkgchkxx and I'm getting this output which I never got with pkg_chk

Another NetBSD and pkgchkxx user has confirmed that they do not get a "Rechecking packages after deletions" message or the duplicate output thereafter.

Can you tell me what is going on here and how to prohibit this extra output?
