Q3 roadmap

This is the roadmap for Q3 of 2023.

Over the past few days we've triaged every single open issue in this repository. Over 15% of issues have been closed as already fixed, but we have identified around 20 high priority issues that severely impact experience of using Deno in your favorite code editor.

Below is the list of the high priority issues that we intend to address in Q3 2023:

Active work:

• Cannot import npm specifier modules due to firewall #837
• Add formatter settings on workspace initialization #789

Needs more investigation:

• Deno.enablePaths conflicts with vscode TSServer when used in a monorepo #878
• Some people may not expect this extension formatting Markdown files outside of Deno projects #555
• "Format Document" with deno, doesn't comply with deno.json, prettier or editorconfig. #616

Waiting on workspace support:

• [Feature Request] Support multiple tsconfigs in the same repository #488
• Allow using different deno configs for different dirs #787

Complete:

• Initializing Deno breaks suggest.completeFunctionCalls #743
• Handle deno.json or import_map.json as symbolic links #784
• Intellisense/autocompletion is broken #825
• Editor decorations disappear/flicker while typing #835
• Not working, confusing error message with"editor.formatOnSaveMode": "modificationsIfAvailable"  #860
• Update imports when filename changes #410
• Invalid deno.json breaks imports #867
• Cannot find name 'Deno'. deno-ts(2304) #841 - Addressed via new diagnostic which adds instructions on what to do.
• Show breadcrumbs navigation when going to definition #850 - It might not be possible for us to add breadcumbs here due to a limitation in vscode
• respect fmt option in deno.json for auto imports #856

That's correct. We will fix them once we add native support for workspaces in Deno.
