This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") documents the rights granted by contributors to the maintaining organization of the BifroMQ project. This Agreement is intended to clarify and document the intellectual property rights granted by contributors to the project.
- Definitions:
- "You" and "Your" refer to any individual or entity that is contributing to the BifroMQ project.
- "Contribution" refers to any original work of authorship, including any modifications or additions, submitted by You to the BifroMQ project.
- "Project" refers to the BifroMQ project managed by its maintaining organization
- Grant of Rights:
- You hereby grant to the maintaining organization, and to recipients of software distributed by the Project, a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contributions and such derivative works.
- You also grant a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer Your Contribution in whole or in part, alone or in combination with other contributions, under any patent rights you own or can license without payment to any third party.
- Your Representations:
- You represent that You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses.
- If Your employer(s) has rights to intellectual property that You create, You represent that You have received permission to make the Contributions on behalf of that employer, or that your employer has waived such rights for Your Contributions to the Project.
- Support and Warranty:
- While You are not required to provide support for Your Contributions, except to the extent You desire to provide support, You warrant that Your Contributions are Your original creation and/or You have the right to submit them under the terms of this Agreement.
- You are not expected to provide any warranty for the Contribution, except to the extent required by applicable law.
- Disputes:
- Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction, e.g., the State of California, United States] without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
This Agreement is effective upon Your acceptance of the terms herein, which may be evidenced by Your act of submitting a Contribution to the Project.
