Hello, we have connected a Zebra GK420t label printer to an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS via ethernet. Our corporate font is installed on the Ubuntu system. The font is also stored on the printer's flash memory. How can we select the font as the default font for the printer in CUPS? Courier is defined as the default in the PPD, but the font that is printed by default does not currently look like Courier at all. How can we choose our own font to be the default one? Do we have to change the ppd and how?

cheers
Benny

today I learnt that the default font is not defined by CUPS but set with an autoexec.zpl which is also stored in the internal flash memory and which runs when the printer boots up.

this is the ZPL-command which needs to be send to the printer with help of the Zebra Setup Utilities. The font needed to be downloaded to the printers memory before

^XA
^DFE:AUTOEXEC.ZPL^FS
^CWX,E:YOURFONTFILENAME.FNT^FS
^XZ

Thanks for your patience
Benny
