It will be a good update to the great new world with double pixel ratio screens.

Hi, I assume you're talking about GUI dialogues looking too small in Photoshop on HiDPI displays?

First of all, let me state that I don't have a retina/hidpi display to test this in practice. (And my trial period for CC 2014 is coming rapidly to an end.) So further information is taken strictly from the Internet.

As far as I understand, the situation with Adobe products on hi-dpi displays is this: It is more or less supported on Macs in the latest versions: http:https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cs6-hidpi-retina-display.html

On Windows though, it's still an ongoing issue: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1323412
Quoting an Adobe employee: "Windows doesn't have Retina style scaling APIs yet, and has some problems in the existing attempt at scaling UIs. We are continuing to work with Microsoft on the scaling problems, but don't have a solution for Windows yet.
Photoshop does have UI font scaling, but no way to scale the icons and other UI elements on Windows at this time."

I haven't found any information on special treatment of ExtendScript plug-ins and this leads me to believe they're simply not supported (yet?). Or they're (will be?) supported out of the box. But I guess you wouldn't file the issue if everything was ok. In any case, it looks like something Adobe needs to address and we might catch up later. Right now, I'm not sure what we can do.

Is the built-in script having the same issues as well?

Oh I see we have a misunderstanding there. First, I'm bad in english because my native language is russian.
I am talking about exporting scaled layers with name postfix like @2x. So I will can toggle a checkbox with label “Export HiDPI images” or similar and have both name.format and [email protected], or vice versa – check “Export LoDPI images” and have a name.format in double pixel ratio and [email protected] for fallback to older screens (in future we will use them everywhere I think).

And it's not bug lol, it's feature request as I wrote in a title.

Aha, I see. Your English is fine; it's just you could describe your feature a bit more at first :-)

Well, I can see a certain merit in having a "lo-dpi" option on export, but scaling up low-res images 2x seems a bit wasteful. It would bloat the resulting data 4 times while showing almost no difference on the actual device / hi-dpi screen. Overall though it's a good idea and I think worth implementing eventually.

Upscaling is fine if you have smart objects with full-sized images inside and draw all graphics with shapes and vectors, it's not a problem for developers or designers. Look at Slicy (I do not support this app because it's not a good way for multi-platform Photoshop).

We do having scaling now. Exporting at a scale of 200% should fix this issue.
