For checking if somebody participated in the poll, do you use the ip as the only criterion? I ask because not every user has his own ip maybe resulting in problems when another user with the same ip wants to tak part in the poll.

Hi

The ability to clear individual IPs would be appreciated e.g. a 'vote again' button (this would clear their IP address from the voted list). Make sense?

Cheers,
Shaun

Clearing the IP's wouldn't be so good I think. Because this way the statistics are not realistic.. Must find a way to let all users vote inside a network..

Yeah, I totally understand that it would skew the statistics, but sometimes clients want that anyway :) – I was thinking it would only clear that individual computer's IP, not all IPs.

Also, I am testing a graph generated from the results from Polls – it's difficult to test quickly as I have to go into the admin > duplicate Poll > update Poll > untick Hide... no the most efficient way of doing things.

Thanks for you time.

hi!

ip situation 1: I voted on my workplace where all computers have 1 ip, nobody else can vote again.
ip situation 2: I voted at home, reconnect to internet, vote again, reconnect, vote again...

so, what about "Only registered members can vote"?
Cookies are nice too, but I can wipe them to vote more than once.

sorry for my Eng.

Only for registered members isn't always the option. Not all websites do have a front-end login. Besides that build in an option to restrict it when you have that, is cool!

Of course it must be an option to choose from "ip", "cookie" or "registered members" limitation.

I request a "cookie" limitation! That will a very usefull feature. There are several ISP used by one IP for many users in our small town.

I think the best is let the user chose the kind of pull. ("ip", "cookie" or "registered members")

Hi i have an other suggest: use facebook authentication or openID.

It would be create to clear poll results in the admin side. Nobody is holding an election with these polls. They are mostly used for fun or have some corporate use, but after that is done its important to be able to clear the results as an admin.

I would also find it very useful if we can choose to limit the voting based on ip address or a cookie. Right now the IP limit isn't suitable for my client because a lot of his visitors will visit from a business environment, sharing the same IP address.

Will you be addressing this issue any time soon?
