Ooh yikes, that doesn't look good. I haven't seen this behavior personally, but it looks like for some reason the dimensions being calculated here is incorrect for your screen.

I've been working on a v2 release in the develop branch, in which this status display has been refactored to be an actual menubar item instead of a floating text element (and renamed it to "mode indicator"). So this is something that will be fixed upon the v2 release, but if you want to use it now you can copy the mode-indicator.lua code in that branch and set it in your config for now:

spoon.Ki.statusDisplay = require("mode-indicator")
