Could you share a bit more info about the steps leading to this? Did this happen during sync in Android Studio, or was it building from the command line/running in Android Studio? |
Just clone the repo and Android Studio will try to sync with gradle, and it fails with this error. It seems like downgrading gradle version to 7.5 makes it start working. |
@dave08, hey thanks for sharing this. |
See the following gradle issue: |
This solution helped me gradle/gradle#20830 (comment) |
Also ran into this in #520 |
This StackOverflow answer helped me. |
I was having similar issue while using java 11 and Gradle version below 8 then I upgraded Gradle to 8 and java to 17 it started working. |
If anyone gets into this state, could you try running |
I just cleaned |
This is successful however the jar in the cache at least for me is never fixed. On the latest hedgehog canary builds no solution suggested resolves the issue. Even when trying to integrate build-logic into my own simplistic application encounters the same issue. |
Is anyone repoducing this issue consistently? Because to me this looks like a "local" issue that is not direclty related to this project :/ And in this case we should close this issue from this project and re-open an new issue where it actually belongs to. |
Is there an existing issue for this?
Is there a StackOverflow question about this issue?
What happened?
A build failure:
An exception occurred applying plugin request [id: 'nowinandroid.android.application']
I didn't modify any files after git clone, and I've tried to re-git-clone the project, and remove all the gradle cache, but still failed.
