Sessions counter doesn't increment at all on Android 13

On my Android 13 device, the sessions counter doesn't increment at all. I can't get it to go up even by swiping to the right (to fast forward). Nor does the counter increment after a session is done. The counter didn't simply reset to 0 at the end of the day either; it happened twice in a row. The only setting that looked relevant was the "Sessions counter" box, which was checked.

Am I missing something or is there a bug here?

Completing a session should increment the counter and the session should be saved to the stats unless your phone is killing the app. Perhaps something from here will help: dontkillmyapp.com/
Swiping to the right will cause an increment only if that session is longer than a minute.

I can tell that I have the same issue with my Android 13 phone. I followed all of the dontkillmyapp recommendations for the brand I use, but the issue persists.
Sometimes the counter would stay stuck to 0 and I'll notice it a few minutes later and and would then have to swipe right to increment the session counter.
