[Feature Request] #28
Comments
@benjitseng thanks for the input! To clarify, you'd like to be able to select the text alignment for the text inside the label, or do you mean how the entire label is placed in relation to the dimension line? Alternatively, it sounds like you're saying if you could have the line drawn as-is, but provide custom text that would be displayed instead of the measurement, that would also work? If I provide a box where you can add custom text, here are a couple questions:
|
I would like to be able to select the text alignment for the text inside the label. To be clear I would like to control this alignment in the measurement text. Yes you are correct with you're understanding of the custom text concept. To answer your questions, at least for my purposes, I wouldn't need the measurement text if entering a custom text and I having the custom text apply to each side is fine. The whole custom text feature isn't necessary though if I can control alignment of the measurement text, it was just a possible alternative solution to the original problem. |
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I use the this to make measurements for objects that are arbitrary scaled to fit in a template so I end up having to manually edit the text for the measurements all the time. This causes the text to get misaligned with the lines, and if I have to measure many objects at the same time it can be burdensome to have to manually edit all the text alignment and numbers.
Describe the solution you'd like
Have an option to choose text alignment justification and/or be able to put a custom value in the measurements before creating the measure lines.
Describe anything you've already tried
current process is manually ungrouping the text and the lines and then relative center aligning the text to the line to make it center.
Additional context
I work in a print shop and use your tool for proofing and it's been a real life savor in time for the proofing process. I really appreciate this tool and these small features would help us out a ton. Thanks.
