Beamer and Beamer article support during refactoring?

During the refactoring, it would be wonderful if one could {add/retain/test 
for} support for beamerarticle/beamer so that one could switch one latex file 
between slides (beamer class) and lecturer's notes (tufte-latex book or article 
class with beamerarticle.)  Works with the core article and book class, so 
hopefully not difficult?  Thanks for your work.
