Recently two new sort types were added, including a number sort type. This newly added sorting function treats negative values as absolute values rather than relative. This isn't how I would sort numeric columns by default, though I can imagine there might be some special cases where you would want to sort numeric data by the absolute value rather than the relative value.
For example — if I were sorting an array with values [1, 3, -2] in ascending order I would expect the output to be [-2, 1, 3] but the table rows are sorted as [1, -2, 3].
