Issue has started recently. Probably with Firefox version 106.
I have investigated, and ended up creating a Firefox bug on window.screen when read from backgroundscript of a webextension:

I added a work-around in xIFr 2.4 which I expect can solve issue in most cases.
Meanwhile the Firefox bug I created has been acknowledged, and it looks like someone will try to fix it.
