(Cannot repeat with the same stl's anymore, so I'm not sure if it was fixed in beta)Random pacticles generated after slicing the model (not because of CAD) #4646

Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

1.9.0 (the latest version before 2.0.0 beta came out)

Operating System (OS)

Windows

OS Version

Windows 11

Additional system information

No response

Printer

Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro (doesn't matter in this case)

How to reproduce

  1. Add a model (no idea what it should have to get this bug, seems random to me)
  2. Slice it

Actual results

Look around and you'll random planes, triangles or something else. This gets solved by rotating the model on the virtual plate on any amount of degrees that's not 90 (so 1 minute works, for example). The triangles in my case were shown as internal solid infill by the Slicer.

Expected results

Well, the particles shouldn't appear, they're not supports or anything else, and do not seem to be a part of incorrect building in the CAD.

Anything else?

It happened a few weeks ago, and I thought I put it here as a bug, but aperiantly I didn't. I have the stl's, but not sure which of the versions the problem appeared on, as for the version that I had back then, it was the last available Orca, I assume it's 1.9.0 (before 2.0.0 beta came out). Now, I tried to get the same thing with all the stl's from that project, but none showed me anything like this (I'm currently in Orca 2.0.0).

A person told me that it could be a non-manifold issue, but the Slicer didn't show any warnings at the time, so I don't think that's the case. A few days ago, another person encountered the same issue (he didn't use 2.0.0 beta, so again, cannot speak on whether or not it's fixed by now).
