• Yes, the dropdown is fairly primitive

Describe the solution you'd like

• The dropdown could allow for search
• The dropdown elements should be ordered alphabetically

• search functionality may require a different dropdown component

  • sorted names if any retrieved from db using inplace .sort()
• dropdown should be closed when clicked outside of
  • open issue since May 2022 Can't close dropdown when clicking outside its container fraserxu/react-dropdown#238
  • problem allegedly solved The dropdown doesn't close when I click outside. fraserxu/react-dropdown#7 but not actually
    • mentioned that click-outside hook should be able to solve
    • but that would need to programmatically close the dropdown
