The idea of the "delay child layer" option in Duik is to introduce a delay or offset in the animation of child layers relative to their parent layer. This option is useful for creating cartoon animations, such as when a character falls, and you want specific elements, like the eyes, to remain suspended in the air for a moment before following the character's movement.

for example:

The Kleaner already does that, if you add it in the position of the child layers
