If a tool is added that combines shapes from multiple separate layers into a single layer, or separates the shapes within a layer so that each shape has its own dedicated layer, that would be great.

For separating shapes, a script already exists: Explode shape layers
For combining them, this could be include in another script we're planning, dedicated to shapes & bezier path, I'm keeping the issue open here as a reminder
