Index and citations

Hi! Is there a way to mark words to create alphabetical index or insert citations to create index of sources?
This is normally done in Word by adding XE and TA references ({XE} and {TA} fields).
I don't know if there isa a way to do it at the moment, otherwise could be a good idea to develop this feature.
