Template Clone

I'm using the example clone template feature with success,
but when i replace the example document with a my word document
(2 page with header, footer and styles)
clone function doesn't work.
the tag clone are lost, but don't see the content cloned (simple text)

i have done a debug session and i think that the problem is on xml generated.
