thunderbird auth issue

i try to setup opensmtpd with dovecot follwoing author blog post and it mostly work. but i cant auth right with thunderbird and have no access to other mail client. looks like explicit tls not support and i get a error when auth. test other method and got to work with starttls but is not ideal because https://nostarttls.secvuln.info/ and other mail server work fine with explicit. how do i fix or what mail client is proper support from not linux os with opensmtp?
