This issue is unique.

  • I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my bug.

Operating System of DocumentServer

Linux (DEB package)

Version information

8.0.1.31

Expected Behavior

Exporting a presentation created using the web editor should retain figures, texts, equations, etc.

Actual Behavior

The exported files, whether PDF, PDF-A, PPTX or OPT, contain several differences:

  • some images may be missing;
  • some images may be distorted (stretched);
  • some equations may be missing.
    The issues on the exported files vary according to the format. For instance, the PDF version includes the equations, but some images are missing/stretched; the PPTX version has all images, but the equations are not visible.

Reproduction Steps

I believe this is what happened:

  • Someone created a PPTX file with several master slides (using Microsoft Office) and uploaded it to our instance of OnlyOffice;
  • This document was used as a template by a colleague, who prepared a presentation including images and equations, using his browser;
  • When he exports the presentation, the resulting file never looks like the version displayed in the browser.

Unfortunately I cannot upload the original file (since it lies on OnlyOffice), and I had to redact the exported PPTX, removing some of the pictures, so the issues are not visible. Still, the equations are missing: exported.pptx

In the PDF version, the equations are present, but the background figures are sometimes stretched: exported.pdf

Additional information

My company uses a solution from another company, which embeds OnlyOffice in their website.
If the best way to proceed is for me to contact the company directly, please feel free to close this issue.

Also, if there is a way for a non-administrative user to obtain the "raw" file from the server (before the export filters), I can try to get it and upload it here, if it's useful.

(Note: I do not really know if they use the Windows, Linux or Docker version.)

This bug seems similar, but is has been fixed since 7.4: #2192

Hello, @maroneze! Thanks for your report!
Unfortunately, I tried to reproduce this issue, but still unsuccessful.

  • Someone created a PPTX file with several master slides (using Microsoft Office) and uploaded it to our instance of OnlyOffice;
  • This document was used as a template by a colleague, who prepared a presentation including images and equations, using his browser;

It would be great if you could attach this pptx files for a more complete test.

My company uses a solution from another company, which embeds OnlyOffice in their website.

Please give company's name and version with ONLYOFFICE integration. This information can be useful along with the files.
We are very grateful for your help!

Hello,

I tried using the Desktop version now (just downloaded and tried with the AppImage of the Desktop Editors version 8.0.1), and it still results in some issues.

Here is the original file I'm using; it's the file exported as mentioned previously:
exported1.pptx

I opened it with DesktopEditors and added some equations to the second slide:

Screenshot_20240604_115549

I then clicked File -> Save As, and chose OpenDocumentPresentation (*.odp) as format. I got this file:
exported1.odp

If I open this file using LibreOffice (I'm using 24.2.3.2), this is what I see in the second slide:

Screenshot_20240604_113751

There are several differences (centered title, top right images slightly different), but the most important one, is that I do not see the equations at all.

If I close DesktopEditors and open it again, and open exported1.odp file, this is what I see:

Screenshot_20240604_115614

The equations are there, but far from their original position; and the top right images are gone.

Please give company's name and version with ONLYOFFICE integration. This information can be useful along with the files.

I'm not sure if my company has some specific clauses with the other company (the one doing the ONLYOFFICE integration) that forbid me from giving its name. It's a very complex organization so I'm afraid it might cause issues... in any case, as I reproduced some of the issues in the Desktop version, that's possibly less necessary now?

Hello @maroneze! Thank you for your attention to our product!

If I open this file using LibreOffice (I'm using 24.2.3.2), this is what I see in the second slide:

I can confirm this problem exists.
I created ticket 68847 in our issue tracker with your issue.

If I close DesktopEditors and open it again, and open exported1.odp file, this is what I see:

That's another problem. Please create a new issue for this problem.
We try to follow rules one issue - one bug.
Thank you for your understanding and help!

Have a good day!
