still happens with Spotify version 1.2.30.1135.g02fef27a

with small modification i got the script working but spotify app shows nothing.

@electriquo the reason this patch still fails is that I dont have access to a linux distro to test.
If you are able to contribute, you can follow whats being done here for the macOS app. Its similar except for the paths.

with small modification i got the script working but spotify app shows nothing :(

If you are able to contribute

once spotify will show something and the experience will be ok, i will definitely open a pr.

would you assist in understanding why spotify shows nothing? how to debug and investigate it?

@electriquo install from official website of Spotify first then use curl command from README.md. You probably faced issue since u installed from using sudo snap
