Word embeddings and miscellaneous

Hey Nemanja,
Being a novice in the deep learning space I have only begun my exploits into the same. To supplement my learnings I began scouring for interesting projects to get started with, that's when I came across your language translation repository. I had a few questions regarding your code, and would really appreciate if you could clarify a few of my doubts:
1- Did you make use of word embeddings? I couldn't find any code in your repository pointing to the same. If you didn't, why not?
2- Could you please in a few words explain to me what exactly were you trying to do in lines 54 to 61 in the data_utils.py file?
