Describe the bug
Hello All! Hope you are doing well.
I used to be running Loop on iOS 16.6.1 before updating. I held back from updating to iOS 17.2.1 for a while to make sure it was finally ok and wouldn’t drain my battery like crazy. I followed the instructions on the LoopDocs website to update. I first updated Xcode, then iOS, then re-built Loop. Problem is, as soon as I updated to iOS 17.2.1, for some reason, the Loop widget on my Home Screen stopped working. As you can see in the attached picture, it states that I have to “adopt containerBackground API”. I believe this is a new thing for iOS17 in Xcode, but I might be wrong.

Since this first showed up straight after updating to iOS 17.2.1, I still went ahead and re-built Loop after having successfully updated iOS. Sadly, this didn’t fix the issue and to this day, I still cannot get the widget to work correctly. Of course, the main app itself works, just the widget that doesn’t work.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Planned out how I was going to update and still be able to bolus if needed
  2. Update MacOS version (if needed)
  3. Update Xcode
  4. Update iOS
  5. Download the Loop code and re-build to device

Expected behavior
The widget should show like it used to on iOS 16.6.1, showing cgm reading and current pod state.

Hi, I am still having the same issue. I have an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 17.4. I just rebuilt loop today (March 2024). There's a working widget on the widget screen (?) but if you try to add the Loop widget to the home screen, you get the container error. I hope this can be fixed!

Hardware: iPhone 15 Pro
OS Version: iOS 17.4
Loop Version: 3.2.3 (57)
CGM: Dexcom G7
Pump: Omnipod DASH

This is fixed in dev branch. You can choose to build dev or wait for next release. (Version 3.4 will be very similar to current dev).
