hmm looking at the output of those two commands I dont see anything unique about the output to determine that it is xubuntu (which should be supported and detected as Xubuntu, if i am not mistaken) and not regular Ubuntu.

I'd like to see the output of maybe someone on Xubuntu 22.04.x or maybe 20.04 to see if this is a change or update or whatnot Xubuntu made in 22.10 they forgot about
