would it be possible to select a folder full of soundfonts and randomly select a soundfont per midi file?

Why? What's the point of this feature? It'd just be a waste of time for me to code.

it would be a fast option to pre-listen to soundfont/midi combination

Oh, you want KMC to pick a SoundFont if it has the same name as the MIDI file.
Now that makes more sense, I can implement it.
