Reproducible example,
The following works
num = MVector{2}(1., 2.) num[1] = 3.
This doesn't
symb = MVector{2}(:a, :b) symb[1] = :f
with the following error,
ERROR: setindex!() with non-isbitstype eltype is not supported by StaticArrays. Consider using SizedArray. Stacktrace: [1] error(s::String) @ Base ./error.jl:35 [2] setindex!(v::MVector{2, Symbol}, val::Symbol, i::Int64) @ StaticArrays ~/.julia/packages/StaticArrays/pTgFe/src/MArray.jl:39 [3] top-level scope @ REPL[112]:1
