At the moment xml attributes are restricted to be one value from the point of view of the masci-tools functions. Unifying the format for attribute and text types would allow these cases (Note that there are already special cases for forcetheorem attributes). But since the usage of multi value attributes is very limited this is not a very pressing issue.
